A Time To Reflect

I have been finding an abundance of joy in just knowing who God is. I have been utterly speechless when remembering the sacrifice of Jesus’s life on the cross. Knowing that I am completely set free from the chains of sin leaves me questioning, “why”? Why are we worth it? Why are our lives worth the brutal torture and death of a faithful, innocent man?

We aren’t worth it. But God loves us so much that He wanted us to be free from the chains of sin, guilt, and shame. Now we are children of God (John 1:12), created in His image (Genesis 1:27), called by name (Isaiah 43:1), and unconditionally loved (John 3:16). By the blood of Jesus shed for us, we are as white as snow. We are made new!

(1 John 3:1-2) 1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
