Bio
My name is Debbie Curtis and I am the Church Secretary here at Anchor Point Bible Church. I grew up in the Muskegon area and attended Fruitport High School. I lived in Atlanta, Georgia for fifteen years before returning to Michigan to be near family. I now live here in Norton Shores with my sweet rescue Chihuahua, Violet.
I was the Administrative Assistant at DaySpring Assisted living for seventeen years and am very blessed to have met many people and lifelong friends. I am now blessed to be a part of the ministry here at Anchor Point Bible Church and look forward to all that God has planned for me.
Debbie's Skills
Youth Pastor James O’Brien
I was born in Denver, CO at a very young age, but shortly thereafter we moved to California and over the next few years had the opportunity to live in both places plus Seattle, WA. I have 1 younger sister that lives in Georgia and my mom lives just north of Seattle.
During all of those moves, I remember going to church but it wasn’t until while living in Denver that I came to faith in Christ, through hearing the gospel through Evangelist Lee Homoki at the age of 10.
In 1985, we moved back to Seattle as I was heading into 6th grade. One of the best things in this move was attending Berean Bible Church. Many people there helped me grow in my walk with God and got me started on a path that would eventually lead me to pursue vocational youth ministry. Prior to that though, I would spend a couple different times at Grace Bible College (1992-93, 96) with a couple years serving in the Navy sandwiched between them (1994-96).
In 1998 I would return to GBC to pursue a Bachelor’s in Youth Ministry, graduating in 2002. Since then I have gotten to serve in youth ministry in a few different locations and settings, including both in churches and schools, as well as various parachurch ministries.
I greatly look forward to getting to know and partner with all of you… my new church family at Anchor Point, as we strive to love God, others and life in the Norton Shores community and surrounding areas!
