On the first Sunday of 2022, we are excited to worship together! Pastor Rob begins a new sermon series in the book of First Corinthians called “Back to Basics.”
As it is also winter, please remember that if there is to be the rare closure of a Church service on a Sunday due to severe weather, we will attempt to get the news out to as many media outlets as possible, so check the local TV news channels, Facebook, emails, etc. to find out if we have to cancel our worship service. This decision is generally made by 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning if necessary. If Mona Shores School District closes due to snow during the week, our church events and activities are also closed for that day.
We will be introducing some new “old” worship and ministry practices in the first few weeks of 2022, including a return to “passing the plates” for our offering with stewardship verses and prayer by various members and occasional special music/feature. We will also soon be having our Anchor Kids come in with their parents after check in for the first part of our service and a children’s sermon/mystery box. Watch for more details for the timing of these and other traditions that we love!
We have a number of poinsettias left over for you to take home or give away to someone. Take one or more with you this Sunday. They will be “gone” on Monday!
Happy New Year! We have a challenge for you: to read your whole Bible, cover to cover, this year! There will be reading schedules by the bulletins for you to take home. If you would like a copy emailed to you, please contact the office.
We also have a new prayer calendar(January thru April) for those of you interested, they are on the connection point.
This week our Bible Study groups kick off the new year, see bulletin for dates and times.
Lastly, please pick up your giving envelopes in the foyer. If you attend regularly there is likely one with your name on it- please check the table!
